New York retail electric market opened April 2007 giving customers the power to choose an electricity provider of their choice. In October 2007 Ambit Energy started offering natural gas energy to residents of the Con Edison. In addition to offering natural gas and standard electricity services to New York, Ambit Energy offers Certified Green-e wind power to reduce the environmental impact of the energy usage. When a customer chooses Ambit Energy, both the utility delivery charges and the ESCO supply charges will be included in the same bill.

Ambit Energy natural gas customers in Illinois are guaranteed annual savings of at least one percent less than what Nicor would have charged them for service or they will receive a check for the difference.
